VIRTUAL ​SCHOOL PROGRAMS

VIRTUAL Science Programs for schools

The NRT’s education department offers a wide variety of interactive virtual STEM-based programs that deliver science topics right to your students in a safe and personalized way. All NRT education programs are adaptable to meet the needs of both teachers and students and are applicable to students in grades K-12. Programs times are flexible and can be scheduled for access by classroom, by grade level, or by school, allowing districts maximum flexibility to meet student learning goals. Programs are available on diverse topics, and customized programming is also available. How can public and private schools use NRT Virtual STEM programs to enhance student learning and engagement? 
NRT's virtual STEM programs are designed for students when they are in classrooms for an interactive virtual 'field trip' that is coordinated to in-school teaching, or for when students are learning remotely. Programming can also be scheduled before or after school hours to provide robust science enrichment opportunities for families and their children when they are outside of the school building. Programs and presentation schedules are customized to meet the needs of individual schools, ensuring all students have access to meaningful science education experiences, even when they are learning through their computer. 

What do NRT virtual programs look like? 
All NRT virtual programs are STEM-based, aligned with MA Curriculum Frameworks, and can be adapted to accommodate the needs of individual grade levels, teachers, and schools. NRT's education department also specializes in creating custom program for your group's specific educational scope and sequence for your location. NRT's virtual programs run 60 minutes and can be delivered through Zoom or Google Meet. Each class typically includes content presented in a powerpoint format followed by a hands-on activity or experiment. Depending on the topic, NRT may incorporate live animal demonstrations or use of animal bio facts. NRT's education coordinator works directly with teachers to provide all information regarding program outlines and required materials so that students are well prepared before class. 

How are virtual classes scheduled? 
NRT's education coordinator can work with schools to schedule series of programs with different topics, times, and/or grade levels throughout the school year. Schools may also schedule single class sessions if interested. In order for more students have access to equitable learning experiences, virtual classes are generally limited to a maximum of 30 students at one time. For larger groups, multiple days or class sessions may be available for scheduling.
