The 2018 recipient of the Elise Ames Parker Award was Mrs. Hazel Varella. A lifelong Easton resident, teacher, and historical preservationist, Mrs. Varella was the author of Growing Up at Sheep Pasture, a memoir of Mrs. Parker's experiences of living at Sheep Pasture during her early life. The book, based on her conversations with Elise Ames Parker, allowed Mrs. Varella to have wonderful insights into the interests and thoughts of Mrs. Parker.
During the meeting and award presentation, Mrs. Varella shared her personal experiences with Elise Ames Parker in a presentation called "Remembering Mrs. Parker". Please click here to see the video of the presentation.
The NRT, its Directors, and staff would all like to congratulate Mrs. Hazel Varella on receiving the award, and we appreciate her service to the organization and the community.
