Although rentals are not a primary activity at Sheep Pasture, NRT members are able to request property rentals for some areas of Sheep Pasture for private or business functions, including the Foundation area and DeVore pavilion. There is a charge for rental of locations at Sheep Pasture. All rentals require completion of a rental contract and pre-approval by the NRT. Rental dates fill quickly, so people that are interested in renting at the Sheep Pasture facility are encouraged to contact us as soon as possible, and no less than 30 days before their event; dates are not considered booked until all rental deposit fees are paid and contract is signed and approved by an NRT staff member. Rental opportunities are not available every day.
Rental of the pavilion should be considered 'rustic' and the facility does not have access to electrical or water service. The composting toilet facility adjacent to the pavilion is the restroom that is available during rentals. Alcohol is not permitted during facility rentals. For full details regarding pavilion services and rentals, please see the FAQ's below or contact the NRT at [email protected].
All fees collected from rental of Sheep Pasture's facilities directly support the operations of the Natural Resources Trust of Easton, which owns and operates the Sheep Pasture and other conservation properties.

Q: Can I hold my wedding at Sheep Pasture?
A: Members of the NRT can arrange to host their small wedding at Sheep Pasture. Fees vary, depending on the size and nature of the event. Q: Why can't I hold my class or meetup at Sheep Pasture without arranging a rental date?
A: In addition to the many visitors who walk the trails each day, the Sheep Pasture property is a busy and dynamic space hosting many activities year-round, including the NRT's own educational programs and classes. Any individual or group who is offering paid classes, programs, or other large group meet up dates, including sports teams, at Sheep Pasture must contact the NRT office for approval prior to using the property. Q: Can I rent the Carriage House building? Can I rent the Stable Barn?
A: The NRT is not currently renting indoor spaces, including the Carriage House or Stable Barn buildings.
Q: Can I bring my class, day care, or clients to Sheep Pasture for the day?
A: We encourage all students and teachers to learn more about the natural world through meaningful environmental education. Sheep Pasture is available for classrooms wishing to have a fantastic outdoor learning experience. We have several options available for larger groups who are interested in bringing individuals of any age to Sheep Pasture, including schools, day cares, after-school programs, religious groups, and others. Options for visits either with or without an NRT staff program presentation are available, and cost depends on the number of individuals attending and the services provided. We strongly recommend any classroom interested in visiting Sheep Pasture to contact the education department as early as possible, as spaces fill very quickly during the year and spaces are limited per day. Please contact the NRT education office by email at [email protected].
Q: Can I rent specific areas of the Sheep Pasture property for a private event?
A: Depending on availability, certain areas are available for rental at the Sheep Pasture property for events such as family reunions, business meetings, corporate outings, and more. Available dates fill quickly, so please contact the NRT at least 30 days or more in advance of your event; if you are looking for a specific date for a wedding, reunion, or other large event, we strongly suggest contacting NRT at least 6 months prior to your requested date. Large events, including fundraisers for other organizations and events with multiple vendors and/or higher numbers of visitors will have different requirements and fees. Availability is limited to times when staff are available during the rental. Please email the NRT office for more information.
Q: Why is there a fee for renting Sheep Pasture facilities? Isn't it a park owned by the town?
A: The Natural Resources Trust of Easton, a 501(c) (3) charitable organization, (NRT) owns and operates the much-loved Sheep Pasture as well as a number of additional conservation properties. The NRT is a private non-profit organization that is not municipally funded, so the staff and volunteers of the NRT work hard to fund all NRT operations, including Sheep Pasture operations, 365 days a year. To encourage all members of the public to take advantage of this wonderful outdoor space, Sheep Pasture is available for individuals and families to walk, hike, bike, and more for no charge throughout the year. The fees collected through programs, rentals, and fundraising events help make it possible for the NRT to continue the operation of its properties for the benefit of the community for no charge. Businesses who use Sheep Pasture for any part of their operations must contact NRT for prior approval. For more specific information on NRT and Sheep Pasture, please visit our About Us page.
Q:Are rentals available all year?
A: Currently rental of outdoor spaces are available on specific dates from late spring through fall, weather permitting. Due to high probability of poor weather, rentals are closed from mid-fall through late spring. Not all dates are available for rentals. Scheduling for property rentals begins in late winter for that year and continues until available spaces are filled.
