The Little Free Library at Sheep Pasture
"Take a book, leave a book"
Reading is to the mind what exercise is to the body.
-Joseph Addison
The NRT's Sheep Pasture is pleased to host a Little Free Library (LFL) for the benefit of all of our visitors. Little Free Libraries are always open, with a number of books available to visitors to enjoy. Guests can 'take a book and leave a book' when they are at Sheep Pasture, and titles will vary so be sure to check back regularly. The book content will change depending on the donations received, but the LFL at Sheep Pasture is located on the north side of the driveway between the parking area and the animal paddock. Its lovely distinctive art is thanks to local artist Susan Fornaro.
Do you have informational or story books for children or adults that are nature-themed? Do you have outdoor activity books or field guides you do not use any longer? You can de-clutter your bookshelves and help visitors enjoy nature more by donating them to the NRT's LFL! No sign up is needed, and books can be left in the Little Free Library for others to use as long as there is room. Please do not leave any books with special personal value in the LFL, as we cannot return or replace books left for general visitor use.
Thank you to the Ames Free Library, Southeastern Regional Vocational High School, Susan Fornaro, and all of the individuals and agencies involved with bringing the LFL to Sheep Pasture for our visitors! The Little Free Library is offered to guests of Sheep Pasture free of charge and is maintained by the NRT staff.
Please note the LFL at Sheep Pasture cannot be used to return active library books to Ames Free Library or other local libraries.
