Sheep Pasture After Dark: New Moon Hike
Monday, November 13
6:00 - 7:30 PM
This program is designed for adult and teenage audiences, and is not suited for children. Participants should be at least 13 years old.
The night of the New Moon is the darkest of the entire month. The darkness can be a place of fear and unknowns, but also a place of discovery and heightened awareness of the natural world around us. Let this be a time to embrace uncertainty and explore the dark woods of Sheep Pasture, as we venture safely together.
NRT Educator Tristan will lead a guided hike through Sheep Pasture, focused on embracing the darkness and uncertainty that we all face in life. We'll learn how to become more comfortable and confident in unfamiliar settings, and gain a better understanding of ourselves and the people around us.
This program will involve some time in the darkness; no one will ever be alone, and everyone in the group will always be safe. We will be gently introducing ourselves to the dark, and slowly becoming more comfortable with being outside in the dark. However, this program may not be suitable for younger children or those with an intense fear of the dark or the woods.
Programs have limited space and supplies, so be sure to register in advance! All hikes are slowly-paced on relatively level trails. Be sure to bring your flashlights, good walking shoes, water and anything else you may need during this 90-minute excursion. This program is recommended for adult and teenage audiences.
To register your group of up to 5 people, set the 'quantity' during checkout to 1. Programs are rain or shine and non-refundable. If a program is cancelled due to inclement or severe weather, participants will receive a credit to be used towards future NRT educational family programs.
In the notes section of checkout, please include the total number of participants in your group who will be attending the program!
