But the value of the environmental education programs runs far beyond the facts that children learn. While they are participating, the kids are also getting outside, learning about their environment, and learning how important the natural world is to their everyday lives. In every program, the naturalists encourage inquiry, dispel environmental myths, and engage children in hands on science, math, and language skills that enhance what they learn in school.
