Modified Operations at Sheep Pasture
updated: 2/22/22
SHEEP PASTURE PROPERTY USE & ACCESSIBILITY INFORMATION
The NRT continues to operate its Sheep Pasture property with the primary goal of having the Sheep Pasture property open is to allow individuals daily access for personal health, family recreation, and emotional wellness.
Please continue to use the precautionary measures of staying home if you have been diagnosed with Covid-19 exposure (or are feeling ill). When outdoors, social distancing is strongly encouraged for anyone who is not fully vaccinated or who are part of a vulnerable population. In some instances, masks will be required. Please remember that many people come to Sheep Pasture for exercise and for relaxation because they feel comfortable there and they cannot safely go to places where larger numbers of people gather.
The NRT continues to operate its Sheep Pasture property to allow individuals daily access for personal health, family recreation, and emotional wellness. As a privately owned property, the NRT has made these changes to align with the recommendations of scientists and community health professionals to keep the community safe while continuing to operate. There continues to be no charge to visitors to access the property and trails for personal use; commercial use of the property without a rental agreement from NRT is not permitted. For the safety of all, NRT educators may request mask use during any/all programs. Visitors who are unvaccinated, that have underlying health conditions (regardless of vaccination status), or live with individuals who may be at risk are strongly encouraged to wear a mask indoors.
The NRT is consulting with the local Board of Health and its staff members to determine the best practices for all areas of operation during programs, events, property use, and other activities going forward. Updates will be issued on the NRT's website regarding any changes.
Our staff and volunteers are working hard to keep the property safe and open for the benefit of the entire community, as well as creating science-based learning opportunities through social media, on site nature programs, summer programs, and outdoor STEM-based classes at individual schools when possible. Virtual programming continues to be available for those who cannot visit in person. Currently, group meetings/ sports practices & meets/ classes are not currently allowed without an approved rental contract from NRT. Please contact the NRT at info@nrtofeaston.org for details about renting event spaces at Sheep Pasture.
Rental of the NRT pavilion is available on a limited basis for small groups, including private/family groups and business groups. For more information, email info@nrtofeaston.org and a staff member will get in touch with you. We hope everyone stays well and we will update these guidelines as information changes or becomes more available.
Thank you to everyone for your cooperation! In order to maintain a comfortable and healthy environment to all visitors at Sheep Pasture, we ask that the property be used for sports team meets, personal parties, or as a group gathering meet up space outside of rental events only after speaking with the NRT office and developing a rental contract. For details, please contact info@nrtofeaston.org. Family pets continue to be welcome on trail areas to enjoy the outside, too. For safety, all pets must be leashed at all times when on NRT property.
We ask that visitors please remember to maintain social distancing space when interacting with staff on site, and please do not allow children to climb on any equipment that may be parked outdoors. Please understand that members of the NRT staff may request visitors to wear masks when on site if needed. NRT's public offices at Sheep Pasture are currently closed to visitors. Staff members will be available by email at info@nrtofeaston.org to answer any questions that you may have, and information will also be posted to our website as any changes are made; messages can also be left on the NRT office phone at 508-238-6049. Receiving answers to your email or call may take some extra time, as most staff are working home/office hybrid schedules throughout the week. To help NRT staff who are on site working to keep the property safe and open every day, please dispose of all waste, including gloves, tissues, masks, food wrappers, dog bags, etc. in the containers provided throughout the property. Everyone's help in maintaining a safe environment helps us continue to be a resource for you.

Gatherings, meetings, and other group activities are not allowed without a rental agreement from NRT. Indoor rentals of the Carriage House building are not currently available.
